How to confirm COD orders on WhatsApp without the API
Most WhatsApp order confirmation apps run on Meta's WhatsApp Business API. That means a monthly app fee, per-message fees from Meta, a separate number and template approval. If you get up to a few dozen COD orders a day, you can do the same job for free from your own WhatsApp.
The method in five steps
- Collect the orders. Export them from Shopify (Orders, Export, CSV) or WooCommerce, or keep a Google Sheet for Instagram and Facebook orders with name, phone, items, total, city and address.
- Fix the numbers. WhatsApp links need the international format without the leading zero: 0300 1234567 becomes 923001234567.
- Open a chat with the message already typed. A link like
https://wa.me/923001234567?text=...opens WhatsApp with your message filled in. You only press send. - Ask for 1 or 2. "1 to confirm, 2 to cancel" gets fast replies and is easy to scan.
- Book only the 1s. Remind the no-replies once after 12 to 24 hours, then cancel.

Staying safe on WhatsApp
