COD order verification: the options and what they cost
Verifying a cash on delivery order means making sure a real person at a reachable number wants the parcel before you pay the courier. There are four common ways to do it.
| Method | How it works | Cost | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp message from your own number | You send a ready message with the order and amount; the customer replies 1 or 2 | Free | Up to a few dozen orders a day |
| WhatsApp API app | An app sends the message automatically with Confirm and Cancel buttons | Monthly fee plus Meta per-message charges | High volume Shopify stores |
| OTP at checkout | The customer types a code sent by SMS before the order is placed | SMS charges; some real buyers drop off | Stores with many prank orders |
| Phone call or robo call | Your team or an automated call asks the customer to confirm | Staff time or per-call fees | Customers who do not use WhatsApp |
The free method, step by step
- Export or copy today's COD orders (Shopify, WooCommerce or your Google Sheet).
- Load them into ConfirmKaro. Each order gets a "Send on WhatsApp" button with the customer's name, items, total and address written in Roman Urdu, Urdu or English.
- Check the flags: invalid numbers, the same number on several orders, and incomplete addresses deserve a closer look.
- Mark each reply as Confirmed or Cancelled; send the reminder to no-replies the next day.
- Download the confirmed orders as a CSV and book only those with your courier.
On WooCommerce, the ConfirmKaro plugin puts the same buttons in your orders screen.
Signals worth checking on every COD order
- A mobile number in the right format (03xx followed by 7 digits in Pakistan).
- A full address with house number and area, not just a city.
- A first-time customer with an unusually large basket.
- Several orders from one number in a short time.
Do this for every order in one go. ConfirmKaro takes your Shopify, WooCommerce or Google Sheet orders and makes one ready WhatsApp message per order in Roman Urdu, Urdu or English, with fake-order flags and a confirmed-orders CSV for your courier. Free, nothing uploaded.
